Harmony Dance Studios Teachers

Charlotte Jorgensen
A championship dancer and native of Denmark, Jorgensen is fluent in five languages. She holds a Professional Danish Dancers’ Association teaching degree and is an Honors Graduate with a teaching and adjudicating license from the World Dance and Dance Sport Council.

Moving to London, England--known as the Mecca of ballroom dancing--in the early Nineties, she rapidly progressed through the Amateur ranks, winning the World Amateur Championship in 1994. In 1997, she began competing professionally with Dancer Andrew Sinkinson, where their talents flourished. Their partnership culminated in great success when they ranked 2nd at the World Championship and at all other Grand Slam Events. She now resides in Solvang, and travels to coach, choreograph and judge dance events across the U.S.

A sought-after choreographer, Miramax hired her in 2003 to provide specialist dance coaching to Actor Richard Gere for the movie “Shall We Dance,”.

American Ballroom Theater hired her as an adjudicator for their finale in what became known worldwide as “Mad Hot Ballroom” – the documentary about New York’s inner city kids and their passion for ballroom dancing.

Most recently you would have seen her on ABC televisions summer hit “Dancing with the Stars” where she was partner, choreographer and coach to John O’Hurley. John and Charlotte had a blast together during the extraordinary long rehearsal hours and remain friends to this day.

Jorgensen is currently involved with Dance 4 Health, a non-profit, bringing physical awareness to children and teens through ballroom dancing and making them realize that they are in charge of their own physical wellbeing through the choices that they make everyday.

Body Arts Consultancy is the culmination of 30 years spent studying and exploring dancing is every shape and form. The realization that she needed a medium where she could reach more people on a daily basis brought about BAC. It will reach out, to inspire people to live healthier, happier lives through functional movement, positive thoughts and spiritual awareness.

Nelson Hill
Hill holds a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design & Illustration and is fluent in four languages. He is also an established character designer, with such credits as DreamWorks, Disney, Viacom, and the top cartoon of the 90’s, Rugrats. His true passion still remains in the martial arts, and the spiritual practices that inspired them.

Nelson Hill has been involved in the martial arts since the age of 5, when he started with Judo, while living in Rio de Janeiro with his mother. Over the years, through his travels around the world, he has studied Capoeira, Savate, Shaolin & Wing Chun Kung Fu, Jujutsu, Mugendo Kickboxing. In 1987 he became WAKO European Champion, and held the title until his move to the United States in 1992.

Upon his arrival to Los Angeles, he sought out the best instructors, from Dennis “The Hurricane” Lane, to Benny “The Jet”, but eventually settled under the teachings of Sensei Chadwick Minge of Studio City Martial Arts in TenShiWa Taijutsu, and after 10 years of study, received his Shodan ranking black belt. During his career as a martial artist, he has taught such celebrities as Rachel Hunter, Alex Van Halen, Val Kilmer, Chris O’Donnell and Shoshonna Loenstein to name a few. He has appeared in a few movies, none of which will be mentioned for your safety!

In 2002 deciding to further his knowledge of the human anatomy , he trained and became certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He thought that after years of training to hurt people he better complete the circle and learn how to better peoples health, as well as himself.

In 2003, Nelson began his studies under Mike DeMora of the National College of Exercise Professionals (NCEP). The 18-month course covers all aspect of training, from cardio, nutrition, sport specific training, to a holistic approach to life. NCEP is the only certification considered for the Exercise Therapist license. It is with this knowledge, that the inspiration for BAC was born. Combining the extensive knowledge of functional anatomy, with the artistry of dance & martial arts, brings a new and holistic approach to fitness & wellness.
